Information about Midsummer Night’s Dream

Roles Available:

11-16 men and 8-12 women ranging from ages 18 to 40 are needed to play a variety of roles.  In some cases, double casting is possible.

The upper class

THESEUS, Duke of Athens

HIPPOLYTA, Queen of the Amazons, engaged to Theseus

PHILOSTRATE, Theseus’ assistant

LYSANDER, in love with Hermia

DEMETRIUS, in love with Hermia

HERMIA, in love with Lysander, daughter to Egeus

HELENA, in love with Demetrius

EGEUS, Hermia’s father

The supernatural characters

OBERON, King of the Fairies

TITANIA, Queen of the Fairies

PUCK, or ROBIN GOODFELLOW, Oberon’s sarvent

Titania’s fairy servants:


COBWEB, fairy

MOTH, fairy


The acting troupe/workers

QUINCE, a carpenter who leads the group

BOTTOM, a weaver, he plays Pyramus in the troupe’s production of “Pyramus and Thisbe,” and gets a donkey head put on him by Puck so that Titania will magically fall in love with a monster.

FLUTE, a bellows-mender who plays Thisbe

SNUG, a joiner who plays the lion

SNOUT, a tinker who plays the wall

STARVELING, a tailor who plays moonshine

Remember, casting is Wednesday, January 20 from 7:00 to 8:30 PM!
